Jeff, my first yak was a Caper. While it is extremely stable it is a nightmare to attempt to  paddle it straight. It wants to wander no matter how good your paddle stroke is. I just met a female kayak angler that paddles a Venus and she told me that the Venus was the same way. Another choice is the Cobra Navigator. I had one and while longer than the Caper weighed exactly the same and was way better to paddle. I've got a buddy with a T-13 that likes his a lot.  I don't know anything about the T-11 which is another choice but I would definitely try to have your wife test paddle a few yaks before you settle on a Caper. jim

Thanks for the info Saltydog, we did pick up a Venus 11 for her. My son has Matt S. old prowler 13, I just picked up a big game,
and my other son has a sit in. whew finally got them all, so now it's time to use them. I think after we paddle around for awhile, everyone may want to switch to different ones. That is the beauty of buying used first, you should be able to break even.
Thanks again,
Jeff

Yeah.....buying gently used yaks is the way to go. I had to go thru a few before I found the right one for me. Hope you & the family have a blast. jim
