We should get official word soon, and it looks like we'll be able to start fishing on Saturday, April 2nd at Shelter Cove. Right when the ocean's flat and my family obligations allow, I'll be on the road to the Cove and out by the Bell, at least, dragging chovie around at 20-30 pulls. I CANNOT WAIT! ;D

That's what I'll be doing May 13 & 14.

Any speculation circulating on the number of fish expected around this year? Have you ever done any mooching at the cove Eric? I like trolling, but it is fun when a fish comes by and swallows your bait!

I did get some local info about a few salmon showing around the Cove...
As far as numbers, there are good numbers of returning spawners expected on the Sac and Klamath, but nothing approaching historic "good" levels as far as I can see.
I've done some mooching, but I prefer trolling. Mooching's fun at the Cove though because you could pick up a lingcod or even a halibut.

Jimmy Y from HSWA says this may be the year for a yak salmon. Hell yeah looking forward to that!

Can you post a link to your salmon fishing video please?
