Fishing report title: Sometimes there's a location, sometimes there's not - that's fine, but I think it should always have a date.
I jammed over to the Cape around 2:30, got on the beach at 3:20, and was wetting a line right before 4PM. The water had lots of brown to it due to the Mattole's heavy outflow a few miles south, but the quality was not bad overall. With a 16' swell just destroying everything from the outer reef out about a quarter mile (!), I had only a few options for fishable water during the minus tide. Got a few taps and broke off one sand bag and rockcod rig in the kelp, but I didn't mind at all because the really nice part of the afternoon was the very light wind and ample sunshine. Even had my shirt off! OMG, I needed the 3 miles on the beach, and the hour of getting a few bites was just fine too.
Now for a test of how well the attachment features work.
